As global start-up company we are producing a multiplicity of cell culture products for various industries (i.e. pharma companies, research institutes, universities, biotech companies) and are striving to expand our product portfolio based on our unique technology platform.
We are looking for a Biochemist or Organic Chemist with a strong expertise in conjugation methods to chemically link proteins, peptides and polymers applicable in cell culture. You will be the scientific liaison between our application scientists in cell biology and our cooperation partners in polymer sciences. You will chemically modify the polymers to turn them into custom tailored smart biomaterials to activate cell signaling.
A broad scientific background in organic chemistry, biochemistry and biomolecule conjugation methods characterizes your work, together with an interdisciplinary mindset and a willingness to quickly learn and execute new scientific technologies outside your area of expertise.
Your focus is on scientific excellence, high quality work, autonomy combined with excellent social skills.
Responsibilities
- Establish laboratory methods to conjugate small molecules and peptides to polymers and proteins and link them to polymer surfaces
- Develop testing methods for your surfaces collaborating with scientists from other disciplines
- Develop and validate technical specifications
- Develop your scientific achievements into reliable products
- Work with IP attorneys to protect the results of your work
Must Have
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related field
- Advanced Skills in the English Language
- Excellent presentation- and organization skills
- knowledge and practical experience in polymer chemistry and analyses methods
- Experience in chemical modification of synthetic polymers or proteins
- Valid work permit for Germany

Scientific Excellence is the key to success
You will interact with scientists representing a broad area of expertise to find solutions interfacing biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology and stem cell research. You will report directly to the Managing Director and will interact closely with the marketing and sales teams to help direct customer impulse into the design of new products.
