The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a higher scientific and technical federal authority based in Berlin. As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods. The focus of our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry is the technical safety of products and processes.

We are looking for motivated support in an innovative start-up company. As part of an EXIST research transfer project, in funding phase 1, the candidate (m/f/d) is employed by the Federal Institute for Materials Research for at least 18 months with an extension option.
Some of the tasks include:
✓ Performing chromatographic characterization (HPLC and GPC) and solid-state characterization (PXRD, IR and Raman spectroscopy, thermal analysis) of chemical recycling reactions of plastic polymers
✓ Isolation and purification of the reaction products
✓ Working in tandem with scientist in mechanochemical processing
✓ Writing reports
Requerements:
You have at least completed relevant professional training.
Higher qualifications are welcome and are grouped accordingly higher in the collective bargaining agreement
Some of the training and personal growth plans:
✓ Attending dedicated workshops, educations, and conferences on the topics of large scale mechanochemistry, catalysis, chemical recycling of plastics, polymer analysis, intellectual property, project management, leadership, etc.
