Do you want to shape the future of how customers discover products on Amazon? Do you want to innovate delivery and shipping experience on behalf of our customers from the scratch? Amazon is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Retail Innovation (m/f/d) for our Insights & Innovation team, who incorporates a solid business understanding, top-notch analytical skills and think big attitude to drive innovation end-to-end.

You will work on all aspects of our customer’s shopping experience on Amazon, collaborating closely with retail business, operations and science/engineering teams across EU and worldwide. You will define and drive major strategic initiatives that allow us to delight Amazon customers at every turn.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record of delivering projects in a data-driven environment, has a solid technical toolkit including SQL and e.g. Python scripting, and excels in stakeholder management. You should also thrive on independence and be comfortable in an ambiguous environment with widely distributed ownership.

This position is located in Munich or Berlin.


Key job responsibilities
• Create innovative solutions using data and research to address wider challenges and opportunities in your organization with new products or product features
• Take a big-picture approach in your analysis of Amazon’s service offering, driving improvements across a range of teams and organizations
• Dive deep into relevant insights to derive the overall strategy, targets and specific actions to increase the engagement and satisfaction of our customers
• Help to develop and deliver against a discoverability roadmap by listening closely both to our customers and business leaders
• Launch projects and initiatives to improve CX, targeting customers in Germany and beyond
• Work with central business, science and engineering teams to identify and implement CX improvements across Amazon’s service offering
• Partner with international teams to jointly work on projects, expand the geographical scope of initiatives and share best practices
• Monitor project progress and success; report the project status towards Senior Management and key EU / worldwide stakeholders


A day in the life
The Innovation team within Amazon DE Stores works on high priority leadership assignments and drives innovation from the scratch by analyzing large data pools and deriving conclusions that eventually lead to new product ideas. You will drive high impact German and European programs, innovate in product development and drive your own data research and analytics. You are able to communicate effectively with senior management, tech and non-tech teams, and influence direction and decisions at all levels. Being successful will mean to deal with ambiguity since you are where innovation starts; we count on our talent to find and scale new ideas and solutions on behalf of our customers.

DE Insights & Innovation is a central team under the DE Country VP, owning country wide functions and programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in a technical or analytical discipline such as Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
• Relevant work experience gained, i. e. in management consulting, financial/business analysis, investment banking, or project or product management
• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience in managing large scale programs with several stakeholder groups
• Strong stakeholder management skills with technical and business functions
• Fluent English language skills
• SQL (ETL/Cradle/Athena) and R, Python or similar scripting language
• Analytical experience, e.g. handling of and drawing conclusions from large data sets (>1MM rows), performing rate-mix analyses, basic statistics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
• Experience in driving the development of product features from ideation all the way to delivery
• Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
• Being able to draw causal conclusions beyond correlation, e.g. performing pre-post analysis, diff-in-diff analysis
