We are looking for a Head of Global Underwriting Process Coordination – 14-month Fixed term contract , based in Munich.

Join our dynamic and diverse team as we lead the charge in shaping the future of global risk assessment and underwriting. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic decisions, optimizing risk management strategies, and ensuring the sustainable growth of Allianz Commercial on a global scale. 

The Impact You Will Have 

As the leader in this role, you will spearhead the coordination efforts among different Allianz entities to establish and uphold underwriting authorities, functional rules, and processes. Your influence will ensure the integrity of underwriting practices across the team, fostering consistency and adherence to standards. This central role guarantees that underwriting decisions align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements, bolstering the overall effectiveness and reliability of the underwriting function within Allianz.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Create, update, and maintain underwriting authorities and grids for each region in collaboration with Underwriting Integrity and Solutions.
• Develop and define global processes, conduct efficiency reviews, and analyze productivity.
• Support the development of Liability Functional Rules and Standards, ensuring regular updates and communication cascades to regions and CUOs.
• Manage Product Reviews for Liability, including IDD, retail, and Large Corp reviews, reporting to legal and Compliance.
• Prepare, coordinate, and conduct Business Reviews, including tools implementation.
• Collaborate with UWIS on various workstreams and projects such as UW/RI/Claims/OPS Initiative for Fac RI.
• Organize and present required content for ASU Reporting and coordinate internal audit requirements.
• Actively support Liability-specific projects and task forces.
• Serve as a Business Owner for various tools like Cube, providing support with maintenance and testing.
• Develop and coordinate publications (internet, intranet, etc.) in cooperation with CUO and Regions.
• Participate in various Business Management Team (BMT) activities, including Global Product Management projects, Liability Process Harmonization, and other ad hoc initiatives as a Liability SME/BO/PO.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Extensive Liability Underwriting experience
• Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline 
• Proven ability to set functional rules and guidelines.
• Proficiency in policy management and underwriting handling processes
• Strong understanding of legal contracts and trade sectors
• Strategic orientation, beneficial even at non-managerial levels
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• Adaptability and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving abilities
