For our Corporate Office based in Budel-Doplein, we are looking for a Corporate Internal Communications Manager, reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Affairs.

 

JOB SUMMARY 
Work closely with Nyrstar’s Global Management, Operations Teams, and corporate/regional/local Corporate Affairs and Communications professionals to develop internal communications strategies and engagement plans that protect and enhance Nyrstar’s reputation with key internal stakeholders. 

 

This role will develop strategies and advise management on their engagement with employees, developing impactful internal campaigns and communications that support the successful delivery of Nyrstar’s strategy and underpin employee engagement, recruitment, and retention. In addition, and as part of the need to globally align on the execution of Nyrstar’s communications strategy, the Corporate Internal Communications Manager will work closely with other members in the Nyrstar corporate and regional communications teams (in Europe, Australia, and the US) to support local execution, while ensuring a common voice and appropriate handling of cross-regional internal and leadership communications topics. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Employee communications: Work with the relevant management and communications teams to develop and implement global internal employee communications tools and platforms and execute campaigns that support the company’s priorities and culture. This will include a strong ongoing focus on Health & Safety awareness and strengthening the safety culture, as well as deployment of relevant leadership information to support ongoing improvement of employee engagement. 
  • Leadership Communications: Develop and manage a global leadership communications cadence through global ‘Business Updates,’ global ‘Live Meetings,’ and any other ad hoc or structural CEO-related internal communications activities.
  • Issues management: Provide internally focused issues and crisis management advice and crisis PR support to the management team as and when required, liaising with other Nyrstar communications resources, Corporate Affairs at NNH and Trafigura as appropriate. 
  • Build and protect the Nyrstar brand, by further developing (as needed) and deploying Nyrstar branding on all internal company-wide communication channels; standardizing any internal platforms such as StarNet (intranet), companywide internal meetings, presentations etc. Work to achieve the communications goals of the organization in creating a robust and transparent brand internally and externally.
  • Social Media, Digital and Content management: providing support and backup to other – externally focused – corporate and regional communications resources, managing Nyrstar’s global digital and social media channels, create appropriate internal and public facing communications, coordinate marketing campaigns and compose and distribute content for operations using social media and digital channels including intranet (StarNet), website as well as corporate pages on LinkedIn and Facebook.
    • Support the development and execution of a wide range of communication materials (email communication, newsletters, fact sheets, social posts, press releases, FAQs, and presentations).
    • Edit and proofread a variety of materials including websites, texts, newsletters and reports.
    • Produce and issue (across Nyrstar’s social and digital platforms) digital content including animations, graphics, and visuals to expand and develop social media presence.
    • Monitor media / social media coverage and share clippings as appropriate with local / regional / global Nyrstar (communications) leadership.
    • Perform or manage onsite event duties, including distribution of outreach materials, setting up presentations, photography, and post-event reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communications, preferably in an international industrial environment.
  • Digitally savvy and up to speed on the latest tools and channels and expertise in social media and digital marketing through web, social, mobile, search, apps, and webcasts.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with commonly used photo and editing applications.
  • High level of experience working with senior stakeholders and working with cross functional teams.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity with multi-cultural and multi-national organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in a (virtual) group as a team leader.
  • Results driven achiever with exemplary planning and organization skills.
  • Sound methods and approaches to persuade, convince or influence others.
