Panasonic Energy Solution with Hydrogen TechnologyPanasonic is setting up a brand new team in the UK for its Energy system technology using hydrogen fuel cells. This is a Panasonic in-house development Energy Management System comprising of market ready Renewable energy and Battery systems and Panasonic’s Core Technology of Pure Hydrogen Fuel Cells. Our aim is to contribute to Net Zero targets and Panasonic already has a demo site in Japan and are now building one at our Cardiff Manufacturing site. We are looking for someone with entrepreneurial business development experience to start up our UK business while having support from colleagues in Germany and Japan.

Role Overview

Panasonic Hydrogen Business Office is looking for 2 roles to set up this new business venture. The Zero CO2 manufacturing sites use 3 types of energy sources linked to an Energy Management System. This system balances the volatile generation of power especially from the renewable systems in accordance with demands. This role is fundamental to getting this new business up and running in all aspects.
How you will become part of the bigger picture..
You will:

  • Establish business partnership on entire hydrogen value chain (H2 Supplier, Engineering Company, Maintenance Company, etc.) by utilizing RE100 demonstration site in Panasonic Manufacturing UK site(PMUK), Cardiff.
  • Be involved in project development with UK government/authorities & B2B potential customers
  • Identify, select and engage in the projects that are under development by local developers/investors.
  • Take responsibility for managing and monitoring budget.
  • Develop and execute overall business plans and strategy to promote RE100 solution in UK.
  • Prepare and deliver techno-commercial promotion materials to customers and partners.
  • Lead on how to effectively promote our operation in PMUK Cardiff which is our RE100 demo site.
  • Contract completion with our Legal Team
  • Plan and execute PR activity to align with customers/Panasonic PR team
What you will bring to the picture..
  • Several year’s experience in a self-generated business development role
  • Ability to negotiate at all levels within Government bodies and our Customers
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity to drive things to fruition.
  • Ability to build the business practice and management skills while paying a high priority to compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in our German and Japanese offices.
  • Ability to manage the business in such emerging businesses like hydrogen with logical thinking and practice.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data and prepare reports, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Creating & aligning new strategy to generate leads
What would give you the edge..
Experience in the Energy Industry(Oil & Gas, EPC) and possibly hydrogen supply chain.
  • Previously worked in a start up situation of this size and nature
  • Ability to travel within the UK and Europe
  • Previous budget and business plan management
  • Flexibility for movement in case working location is changed.
  • Able to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Continuously learning and developing with the ability to adapt to changes promptly and effectively

Salary range – £ (Depending on Experience)

Hybrid / Remote working – with the expectation to work from the office a minimum of 2 days a week
