A Data Architect is responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing an organization's data architecture. They ensure that data assets are consistent, secure, and accessible to support business needs and objectives.

About the job

Main Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing data architecture solutions to support business requirements, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Developing data modeling standards and best practices, and providing guidance to development teams on data modeling techniques and methodologies.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools for data management, storage, and analysis to enhance the organization's data architecture.
  • Define and develop architectural strategies and roadmaps to support business objectives and future growth.
  • Analyze current technology environments and recommend improvements or optimizations to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and vendors, to gather requirements and align architectural solutions with business needs.
  • Design and document architectural blueprints, including system diagrams, design patterns, and technical specifications, to guide implementation teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage within the organization.
  • Lead architecture governance processes, including architecture reviews, standards development, and compliance assessments, to ensure adherence to architectural principles and guidelines.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding them in the implementation of architectural designs and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of architectural solutions, conducting periodic reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

About you

Desirable knowledge, experience and skills

  • Minimum of 5 years in data architecture or related roles with hands-on experience in data modeling, 
    database design, and data management.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools, strong understanding of database technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.

Education and qualifications/certifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information 
  • Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in data management or database administration is advantageous.

Performance Indicators

  • Efficient management and optimization of data architecture to support business processes and decision making.
  • Implementation of robust data governance policies ensuring data quality and compliance.
  • Successful integration of data architecture solutions with existing systems and applications.
