We are seeking an HR business partner who is passionate about delivering excellent employee experience, who is inherently curious, earns trust with diverse stakeholders, challenges the status quo and implements innovative solutions. Successful candidates will also demonstrate:

• Strong solutions focus and comfort working in an ambiguous environment which demands high-impact deliverables.
• The ability to drive innovative thinking at a high level with the understanding how to operationally execute those ideas
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to interface, coach and mentor at senior levels in the organization while staying close to organizational health at all levels through frequent review of business and people metrics.
• Skilled at facilitating senior leader talent reviews to effectively calibrate performance, promotions and support the development and retention of a diverse workforce.

Key job responsibilities
• Act as a consultant to your client groups and provide input on the HR implications of strategic and operational decisions and plans, acting as an integral member of each group’s management team
• Develop and own the delivery of the strategic HR plan for each business supported, ensuring consistency with global HR goals.
• Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development
• Maintain a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, engagement and retention activities, including an understanding of compensation and benefits and development activity.
• Support and develop line managers in driving a performance culture through coaching, facilitating talent assessments and succession planning meetings.
• Be responsible for building and driving the people agenda for Amazon Berlin (across all corporate business lines), supporting the Berlin site leader and the Berlin site leadership team
• Support senior leaders with expertise about German employment legislation and in interactions with the AWS Germany works council.
• Deliver on business-critical HR related projects across different EMEA countries

About the team
The EMEA UC HR Team brings a unique vantage point to the global AWS business, by developing an understanding of the diverse needs of the AWS Software Development employees the 20+ EMEA countries. We define solutions to address these needs.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (or equivalent).
  • Multiple years of experience in progressive HR leadership roles, including several years in HR Business Partner roles influencing senior executives.
  • Highly skilled in change management.
  • Able to travel domestically and globally, as needed.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Knowledge of German labor law and experience of working with German works councils
  • Experience in a high-tech environment, specifically software engineering.
  • Proficient in working in a global, matrixed environment.
