JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research project funded by the DFG focusing on developing mRNA-based therapeutic strategies of colitis ulcerosa. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project that aims to advance diagnosis, treatment, and patient care for individuals with colitis ulcerosa, particularly with regard to their increased risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Development of RNA-based therapeutic strategies of colitis ulcerosa, a disease with increased risk of developing colorectal cancer Design and execute experiments using molecular biology and animal experimental techniques
  • Analyzing experimental data and interpreting results
  • Keeping accurate records of experiments and maintaining a well-organized laboratory Data presentation at conferences and publications

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • a strong academic background in molecular biology techniques such as SDS-PAGE, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-organelle staining
  • experience or a strong interest in animal experiments and omics would be highly advantageous. Good understanding of the pathogenesis of inflammatory related processes
  • exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
