Weber Shandwick is seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about data-driven strategy and excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting projects in Korea, spanning various industries and client types. Some assignments will require quick turnarounds, while others will be long-term projects. We welcome candidates with prior experience in consumer marketing strategy and planning, as well as digital marketing. 

As a Strategic Planner you will have the opportunity to collaborate with over 100 planners, strategists, analysts, and data scientists across our global network. Additionally, you will be an integral part of our Insight community, working alongside other analysts and strategic planners.

Responsibilities:

•    As a strategic planner, you will lead the strategic process, from start to finish, partnering with CX lead and clients.
•    Leads engagement with confidence and commitment to high quality, data-driven strategic brand recommendations, tactical plans and programs. 
•    Focuses on the strategic vision driving the detailed execution and performance evaluation. 
•    Ensures the plan is strategically sound, accurately addresses interesting insights and opportunities informed by research/ analytics findings in partnership with Analytics + Intelligence.
•    Manages account engagements independently, with minimal guidance. 
•    Plan the quality of strategic output of a key relationship including client stewardship, briefs, strategic narratives and POVs. 
•    Be responsible for identifying opportunities to expand client engagements in partnership with CX leads and teams. 
•    Contributes to sharing best practice, case studies and thought leadership internally and externally at Weber Shandwick.
•    Confident to work and collaborate with CX teams and beyond.  
•    Develop expertise in crafting research plans and creative briefs, incorporating an earned-first approach and a deep understanding of the marketing and communications industry.
•    Understand the mindset of consumers within our complex multi-channel media landscape.

•    Actively contribute to an inclusive team culture and consistently demonstrate behaviors that foster integration.
•    Contribute to the work plan of junior team members and provide guidance as needed.

Growth and Business Development:
•    Leverage your understanding of clients’ businesses to share ideas that contribute to organic account growth.
•    Enhance your business acumen by supporting the development of pitch materials and shadowing elements of a pitch.

 

Qualifications:

•    Min 5+years’ digital marketing or strategic planning experience, preferably at an agency but open to in-house experience 
•    Understands consumer insights, integrated campaign planning and brand and digital marketing (Social, content, video, media, influencer) 
•    Persuasive presenter and speaker, able to tell a story based on data and hypothesis.
•    Strong knowledge of data analytics and research methods.
•    Deep industry network with a passion and interest in the field 
•    Self-motivated, fun, entrepreneurial and endlessly curious.
•    Clear writing style in Korean as well as being an effective presenter in Korean and ideally in English
•    Curious about culture and how that interacts with the media landscape

Sr. Manager - Account Director, Technology

We’re looking for an Account Director to join our Technology team in Seoul. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing and executing communication strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Responsibilities:

Media and Communications 

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with clients’ business objectives

  • Monitor media coverage and provide timely reporting and analysis to clients. 

 

Client  

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned client accounts 
  • Keep client programs on schedule and ensure all deadliness are met
  • Plan and implement programs; forecast and manage budgets, profitability and receivables for new and existing clients
  • Proactively handle client problems quickly and adeptly
  • Contribute to and promote business development by counselling clients
  • Develop and deliver client presentations
  • Generate new business from existing clients and new clients by developing programs, making credentials presentations, presenting program recommendations and pursuing new business leads 

Team Management 

  • Train and motivate team members 
  • Contribute to performance reviews 
  • Create opportunities for team members to enhance growth with agency 
  • Ensure account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines 
  • Involved in staffing of team including reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates and product of client 

Qualifications:

  • Min 7 years of experience in PR account management, ideally working with clients in the Technology field 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of media relations and experience pitching to journalists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills that bring your ideas to life through explanations that engage and excite internal and external audiences
  • Flawless attention to detail with a proven ability to manage full project lifecycles from brief to delivery and measurement
  • Enthusiasm for strategic planning, creative ideation, new business development and long-term client partnerships
  • Understand the elements that make a story exciting, what brands are doing in the press and on social platforms, and what they should do next
  • A team player who can collaborate with a range of people to devise the best approach to the work in hand and bring your team along with you throughout the journey
  • Fluency in English and Korean is essential
  • Proficiency in MS Office and PR software tools
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our global and domestic healthcare and pharmaceutical clients in various communications-related projects.

As an Associate/Senior Associate you will be an integral contributor to our Healthcare team, working closely with well-known and highly reputable Communications consultants to support our globally known pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. Additionally, you will have access to a wealth of knowledge through other consultants across our global network.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with clients to develop creative and innovative initiatives to support brand strategy, brand awareness, and PR;
  • Develop and present relevant market research and analysis on client competitors, related industries, and current issues
  • Support global healthcare companies’ entry into the Korean market by consulting clients on marketing strategies and client targets;
  • Support Media Relations-related tasks, such as writing news releases, arranging interviews, and planning/managing press-related events.

What You Will Need:

  • Fluent Korean (Ability to do business smoothly in Korean);
