Als Director Research and Development übernimmst du eine zentrale Rolle in unserem Unternehmen und leitest den Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung am Standort Haar. Du führst ein Team von Ingenieur:innen und Wissenschaftler:innen, das sich mit wegweisenden Technologien und Innovationen in der Nanotechnologie beschäftigt. Deine Führungsaufgabe umfasst die Koordination von sechs kompetenten Team- und Abteilungsleiter:Innen, die jeweils spezialisierte Kompetenzteams leiten, darunter Advanced Microscopy, Cryogenics, Electronics & Software, Actuators & Sensors, Mechanical Design sowie Project Management and Coordination. Deine Expertise und dein Engagement sind entscheidend für den Erfolg unserer Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekte, die die Grundlage für unsere zukunftsweisenden Produkte bilden.

Was Dich erwartet

Du bist der Innovator: Als Director RnD trägst du die Verantwortung für den gesamten Produkt-Innovations-Prozess (PIP). Von der ersten Idee bis zur Markteinführung bringst du unsere Innovationen voran und machst sie zur Realität.
RND als Dienstleister: Du siehst RND als internen Dienstleister im Unternehmen. Du benchmarkst dich mühelos mit externen Entwicklungsanbietern und bietest unseren internen Kunden exzellente Innovations-, Produktentwicklungs- und Produktpflege-Dienstleistungen an.
Enge Abstimmung mit den Stakeholdern: Du stimmst den Bedarf an Entwicklungskapazitäten und Ressourcen sowie die Priorisierung der Entwicklungsprojekte eng mit der Geschäftsführung und den Geschäftsfeldleitern ab. Gemeinsam sorgen wir für eine effiziente Nutzung unserer Ressourcen.
Kennzahlenorientierte Projektsteuerung: Unter deiner Leitung werden Projekte kennzahlenorientiert gesteuert, um die Produktivität des RnD langfristig zu steigern. Wir arbeiten effizient und zielgerichtet an unseren Entwicklungsprojekten.
Optimierung der Schnittstellen: Du lebst die Schnittstellen zu Vertrieb & Produktmanagement (Kundenanforderung), Einkauf und Fertigung (Produzierbarkeit) sowie Marketing (Markteinführung) und optimierst diese stets. Eine reibungslose Zusammenarbeit ist uns wichtig.
Projektmanagement und kontinuierliche Verbesserung: Du nutzt das Projektmanagement-Team zur Steuerung komplexer Entwicklungsprojekte und zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung der Projektmanagement-Kompetenz im Team. Wir lernen gemeinsam und wachsen über uns hinaus.
Umsetzung normativer Anforderungen: Du kennst die normativen Anforderungen unserer Kunden und Märkte und setzt sie stringent um. Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit stehen bei uns an erster Stelle.
Markt- und Kundenorientierung: Du bist Markt- und Kundenorientiert, beobachtest Technologietrends und setzt sie bewusst in der RND ein. Zudem bist du im engen Austausch mit unseren Kunden und Partnern. Wir bleiben am Puls der Zeit und gehen aktiv auf die Bedürfnisse unserer Kunden ein.

Was Du mitbringst

Du hast ein abgeschlossenes Studium, idealerweise im naturwissenschaftlichen Bereich, sowie kontinuierliche Weiterbildungen absolviert. Zusätzlich hast du erfolgreich Weiterbildungen in den Bereichen Projektmanagement und Führung abgeschlossen.
Als starke Führungspersönlichkeit bringst du umfangreiche Erfahrungen in der Leitung größerer Teams und komplexer Projekte mit.
Dein Führungsstil ist kooperativ, wobei du stets den klaren Fokus auf die Zielerfüllung behältst.
In der Kommunikation und im Auftreten gegenüber der Geschäftsführung, Stakeholdern sowie externen Geschäftspartnern bist du souverän und vermittelst überzeugend die Interessen des Unternehmens.
Dank deiner verhandlungssicheren Englischkenntnisse bist du in der Lage, dich erfolgreich in einem internationalen Umfeld zu bewegen und unsere Unternehmensziele effektiv zu vertreten.

Introduction

As Director Research and Development, you will take on a central role in our company and manage the Research and Development department at the Haar site. You will lead a team of engineers and scientists working on pioneering technologies and innovations in nanotechnology. Your leadership role includes the coordination of six competent team and department heads, each leading specialized competence teams, including Advanced Microscopy, Cryogenics, Electronics & Software, Actuators & Sensors, Mechanical Design and Project Management and Coordination. Your expertise and commitment are crucial to the success of our research and development projects, which form the basis for our pioneering products.

Your Responsibilities and Duties

You are the innovator: As Director RnD, you are responsible for the entire product innovation process (PIP). From the initial idea to the market launch, you drive our innovations forward and make them a reality.
RND as a service provider: You see RND as an internal service provider within the company. You benchmark yourself effortlessly with external development providers and offer our internal customers excellent innovation, product development and product maintenance services.
Close coordination with stakeholders: You closely coordinate the need for development capacities and resources as well as the prioritization of development projects with the management and business unit managers. Together, we ensure that our resources are used efficiently.
Key figure-oriented project management: Under your leadership, projects are managed based on key figures in order to increase RnD's productivity in the long term. We work efficiently and purposefully on our development projects.
Optimizing the interfaces: You live the interfaces to sales & product management (customer requirements), purchasing and production (producibility) as well as marketing (market launch) and optimize them constantly. Smooth cooperation is important to us.
Project management and continuous improvement: You will use the project management team to manage complex development projects and continuously improve project management skills within the team. We learn together and surpass ourselves.
Implementation of normative requirements: You know the normative requirements of our customers and markets and implement them stringently. Quality and reliability are our top priorities.
Market and customer orientation: You are market and customer-oriented, observe technology trends and consciously implement them in the RND. You are also in close contact with our customers and partners. We keep our finger on the pulse and actively respond to the needs of our customers.

Your Skills and Qualifications

You have a degree, ideally in the natural sciences, and have completed continuous further training. You have also successfully completed further training in the areas of project management and leadership.
As a strong leader, you have extensive experience in managing larger teams and complex projects.
Your leadership style is cooperative, while always maintaining a clear focus on goal fulfillment.
You are confident in communicating and presenting yourself to management, stakeholders and external business partners and convincingly convey the interests of the company.
Thanks to your business fluent English skills, you are able to operate successfully in an international environment and effectively represent our corporate goals.
