The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer - Testing (f/m/d) you will be responsible for the documentation and development of our software components at our Roche Competence Centre in Ludwigsburg as well as the smooth running of the software development - true to the principle "Without Diagnostics, Medicine is blind".

Your responsibilities:
* Technical steering, guidance and Go-To person of the software development team (externals and internals) 
* Leading the development and implementation of testing strategies and plans while defining and implementing testing standards, methodologies and best practices to ensure the product quality
* Interdisciplinary cooperation to embed the testing activities into the overall qualification processes and aligned with other departments and external partners
* Monitoring and reporting on the status of testing activities, including progress against schedule, test coverage, and defect resolution.
* Set up, maintain and improve testing environment and tools and ensure that the test pipeline is used properly
* Responsible for creation and documentation of software testing related documentation to meet internal quality standards
* Active participation in the continuous improvement of the software development process, mentoring and coaching of colleagues and evaluation of new technologies, frameworks and tools

Who you are:

We are looking for a motivated and committed person who is able to inspire our team, guided by the values of passion, courage and integrity! You already gained knowledge in technical steering and project management and are able to connect the dots leading to decisions.

You also bring:
* Degree in computer science, information technology or comparable.
* Several years (>5) of professional experience in the software development in the product development of complex systems in the field of embedded systems in a regulatory environment and at least least 2 years in leading role as test manager or similar
* Strong communication skills to steer internal team and external partners
* Good leadership and project management skills to ensure progress tracking and delivery to project objectives
* Good knowledge of all phases of the software development process (requirements management, architecture and design, verification, validation)
* Expert knowledge in test automatisation and CI/CD (GitLab) and a variety of testing tools and frameworks
Preferred technology and tooling stack: C++, Python, gRPC, OPC-UA, gitlab, HL7, Debian, git, GoogleTest, Docker, codebeamer, gherkin, Visual Studio Code, …
* Good knowledge of programming languages and scripting 
* Certified ISTQB®Tester Advanced level or similar
* Excellent English (C1 level) skills, and good communication and facilitation skills

The advertised position is in general also suitable for part-time work.
