Senior Electrical Engineer

The Company:

Planetary Transportation Systems GmbH is a German new-space company whose aim is to democratise access to space and bring down the cost of space exploration. Planetary Transportation Systems GmbH is a privately held company, and our goal is to show that it is possible to build a sustainable business in space exploration. As well as delivering cheaper and more regular opportunities for academics, industry and educational institutions to conduct in-space research, we are keen to develop the infrastructure required for future settlement on the Moon and beyond.

Your Tasks

• Develop and produce electrical systems for use in space (ESA Astris Kicks Stage)
  • Prepare and iterate designs (specification, part selection, schematics, layout)
  • Support in setting up of production facility
  • Interact with PCB manufacturers/assemblers
  • Define and execute post-production tests
• Verify PCB designs
  • Analyse and test against requirements/specifications (preparation and execution)
  • Perform quality assurance in products produced by industry partners
  • Interact with test facility providers
  • Document results
• Onboard Computer integration into satellites

Your Profile

• At least 5 years experience in electronics, ideally in the (aero-)space sector
• PCB development background with focus on design and verification
  • Preferably experience with KiCad
• Experience with the manufacturing and testing of prototypes
• Good ability to work as a team, reliability, flexibility and commitment
• Good English speaking and writing skills
