Our customer is a US-based, international operating leader in the Process Equipment Industry. Established 30+ years ago, the company has been since then a leading provider of innovative process equipment to the multilayer electronic ceramic devices industry. Today, the focus includes Solid State Li Battery manufacturing, process automation and factory automation with an eye towards industry 4.0. The global installed base covers the following product spaces: Solid-State Li Batteries, HTCC, LTCC, MLCC, MLI and Chip Beads (CB).
To meet the growing requirements of the international market, the company has an opening for a
Chief System Designer / Chief Engineer (m/f/d)
Ideally, you should be a Mechanical engineer with strong machine design experience and expertise, mainly a concept person, someone who can come up with a detailed concept, give it to his team to design, and supervise the design so that it is what he envisioned, a senior level engineer to lead and mentor the team of Mechanical, Software and Electrical engineers.
You could even be a person who is thinking about retirement but would like to stay working on part time basis; or you could be a recently retired person who has had enough of retirement after 6 months and wants to get back to working.
Since the HQ is located in the US and the team in Asia, you need to travel to Asia a couple of times a year and stay there for a few weeks for team building, mentorship and developing the staff. The ideal candidate would therefore be located in Central Europe, halfway between the departments, and working from his home office.

Anforderung
Qualifications:
• Minimum a BS-degree in Mechanical (or other) Engineering discipline, MS would be an additional asset
• 15+ years’ experience designing multifunction PLC and/or PC controlled electro-mechanical equipment and/or systems
• Knowledge of at least one logic control system(s) and SW-engineering language
• Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and electric motion systems design and development
• Familiarity with various mechanical fabrication and system integration methods
• In depth knowledge of at least one solid geometry SW, including finite element analysis and tolerance analysis GD&T
• Excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and presentation in English
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Personality:
• Self-starter, high motivated, no immediate supervision required
• Well organized and driven by success and the desire and passion to innovate
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
• Ability to form relationships and influence with global customers
• Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural staff in various time zones
• Proven leadership capabilities (mentor, foster and lead)
• Willingness to travel worldwide, with a main focus on PRC and the US
• Fluent in English
