Job Description

Develop thermoplastics compounds (focus on thermoplastic elastomers) within Material & Tech. Platform Function of the Sector ContiTech with the following goals:
• Scouting and evaluation of new (raw) materials and thermoplastic compounds.
• Enhance existing material solutions and review/monitor for adapting product performance continuously.
• Design formulations for processable and sustainable thermoplastic compounds. Evaluate them by designing compounding experiments in the TechCenter Plastics Compounding (or externally at toll compounders) and (advanced) analytics.
• Approve new (raw) materials and request implementation into chemical recipe management system.
• Create material specifications. Manage material change requests.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or similar fields
• Absolute material competence in thermoplastic elastomers (and basic core competency in any two of polyamides, PP, PFA and PVC)
• Analytical methods in the area of thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers
• Structured problem solving methods (Ishikawa, 5 Why, etc)
