It's a three-day, professional development and hiring event, taking place from August 13-15, 2024, for college students of diverse backgrounds! If selected to participate in the symposium, you will learn about Nestle’s winning culture, network with peers & current Nestlé employees, and interview for our 2025 Nestlé USA Human Resources Development Program!  

What to Expect from the Human Resources Development Program:

Are you a driven and ambitious young professional seeking to make a lasting impact in the field of Human Resources? Nestlé cordially invites you to embark on an exciting and transformative journey through our highly esteemed HR Development Program (HRDP). Our primary objective is to cultivate a deep talent pool of exceptional HR Business Partners poised to become future leaders in the HR function. Over the course of 24 months, you will gain invaluable exposure to both corporate HR specialist functions and diverse manufacturing/distribution facility environments across multiple cities in the United States.

At Nestlé, our HRDPs serve as strategic partners, leveraging their HR expertise to tackle real-world business challenges and contribute significantly to the success of our iconic product lines. You will assume a role in driving employee development, managing employee and labor relations, interpreting policies and contracts, overseeing compensation administration, staffing, and ensuring legal compliance.

What sets our program apart is the responsibility entrusted to our trainees, coupled with an extensive support system. You will benefit from the guidance of dedicated direct report managers, a seasoned HR Leadership mentor, and a peer ambassador. This comprehensive network will empower you to excel, facilitating your growth into a well-rounded HR professional.

Our program encompasses a comprehensive blend of structured learning experiences and hands-on opportunities, equipping you with a diverse skillset upon program completion. Program Breakdown:

First Rotation (Location TBD –  7  months)

  • Immerse yourself in the world of HR as you learn and apply essential HR Business Partner activities, gaining a solid foundation in the daily responsibilities of an HR Generalist.
  • Take charge of exciting HR projects from various specialist groups, showcasing your skills and expertise. This includes delivering a final presentation to the esteemed HR Leadership Team, where you'll present your findings and recommendations.
  • Dive into cutting-edge strategic immersion experiences across multiple vital HR areas, such as recruitment, compensation, talent management, people analytics, organizational development, and employee benefits. This is your chance to make a real impact and shape the future of HR practices.

Second Rotation (Manufacturing Facility or Distribution Center – Various U.S. Locations – 17 months)

  • Foster open and effective communication with employees, serving as a trusted advisor and liaison between associates and management. Provide guidance on policies and procedures to maintain a productive and positive work environment.
  • Drive the development and implementation of people processes that attract, train, and retain top talent, aligning with the organization's short and long-term business goals. Offer mentorship and support to supervisors in navigating people management and development challenges.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with business partners, employee client groups, and, where applicable, union management. Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment that values teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate skills in performance management, employee communications, employee relations processes, and local HR initiatives and priorities. Ensure flawless execution of these critical HR functions, contributing to the overall success of the site and organization.
     

Graduation Placement Assignment (Program Completion)
 

Upon completing your second rotation, you'll graduate from our dynamic HR Development Program and step into a highly coveted HR Generalist role at one of our state-of-the-art Factories, or a Specialist role in one of our HR Functional specialist groups. These positions offer a comprehensive and immersive experience, tailored to the needs of ambitious professionals like you. Harness your diverse experiences and insights to excel in driving HR success and shaping the future of HR at Nestlé.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed and available to start the program by June 2025
  • Preferred majors include but are not limited to: Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor and Employment Relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing environment and/or HR internship preferred
  • Willingness to relocate throughout program and career
  • Willingness to support off shift coverage and work extended hours as needed
  • Sponsorship for work visas are not available for this program

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data and make data driven decisions
  • Ability and eagerness to navigate ambiguous situations as well as exhibits professional maturity
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required 
  • Must possess strong presentation and training skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access). Preferred experience with an HRIS system (such as SAP, SuccessFactors)
