The Data Analyst/AI Innovator is an experienced specialist role which drives the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance Internal Audit’s value add to the business. You will bring in-depth knowledge in analyzing large volumes of data and deriving meaningful conclusions from a quantitative and qualitative perspective, being able to identify trends, patterns, outliers as well as opportunities for new techniques and data analytics use cases.  At the same time, you will promote and drive the further use of AI in Internal Audit.

 

As part of the internal audit team, you will support all phases of the Internal Audit program in close cooperation with other internal audit colleagues, acting also as a trusted and valuable partner to the auditees. As a Data Analyst/AI Innovator, you will own the role to further increase the data analytics maturity level of the internal audit function and to help the audit team using AI to drive efficiency and effectiveness, also participating in initiatives within the wider Allianz Group audit community and beyond.

 

What you do

 

  • Identify business/IT risks through analysis of large volumes of data, as part of the risk-based planning process as well as through the execution of the audit plan.
  • Participate in business/IT audit assignments, contribute through data preparation and cleansing, interpret large datasets and identify significant trends or outliers.
  • Execute and improve audit projects based on digitalization and data analytics (e.g. continuous auditing project in agile framework).
  • Lead the development of the data analytics maturity level through identification of new data analytics use cases, further developing the methodology and staying abreast of new techniques and technologies including artificial intelligence.
  • Drive the development and promotion of an AI and data analytics culture within the global team and with relevant stakeholders, oversee the use of data analytics and AI by the audit team to support the execution of audit assignments.
  • Define continuous monitoring scenarios, red flags and alert mechanisms as deemed necessary and develop the automation of control testing to mitigate operational risks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders from all hierarchy levels.
  • Promote AllianzAM Internal Audit as a trusted partner and live the AllianzAM Values.

 

What you bring

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as Data Analyst or as consultant in a finance related function, financial services (asset management preferred), corporate governance, or IT related topics. Ideally, experience with the use of AI and affinity for the opportunities it raises in an internal audit environment.
  • University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a very good understanding of processes, structures, and the regulatory environment (e.g. governance and data privacy matters).
  • Ability to analyze large datasets as well as to write comprehensive conclusions and/or reports together with the audit project lead.
  • Experience in statistical data mining, or data science, database schematics, data models /data sets, and data analytics related software development.
  • Strong and broad IT skills (data warehouses, database technologies, programming languages such as Python, R or Java, software deployment, web technology, information security and related security tools, general IT controls, IT governance).
  • Capacity to navigate diverse interactions, manage conflicts and difficult decisions within a team in a global context.
  • Ability to challenge and deal effectively with all levels of management and staff, as well as manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Strong technical and ethical characteristics as well as commitment to continuous learning are fundamental to audit success.
  • Proven project management skills are required as well as agility in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
