How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

 

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Financial Analyst, Sales Incentive and FP&A, you will support various analytical tasks across financial and commercial organization. You will serve as a primary business partner to the commercial organization by providing insightful sales analytics while also assisting in the administration of various incentive plans. This role will be responsible for facilitating the annual development of sales targets, setting objectives with sales team members, and calculating payments quarterly against targets. This role will provide updates and analysis of financial metrics including revenue, bookings, profit and losses, and balance sheets. This role is responsible for facilitating certain internal control and SOX testing procedures and ensuring that all financial and accounting practices are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. The role is responsible to help identify financial forecast risks, opportunities, and other financial impacts and communicate the impacts. The successful incumbent will be able to communicate a positive, consistent message of strategy and growth to all levels of the organization.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

 

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

 

  • Manage the quarterly calculations and analysis of internal commercial incentive plan
  • Facilitate the development of sales targets by rep and calculate actual results quarterly; facilitate sales and construction incentive payments with HR
  • Manage commission payments with the Rep Networks
  • Create and manage dashboard reports and other tools for easy and ongoing consumption of key business data (including bookings, margin, and rep performance)
  • Share analytics and insights with external channel partners to ensure alignment and accountability to our strategic goals; specifically, maintain the rep dashboards with key metrics and tracking of required action items
  • Study past statistics to predict future sales and provide the necessary information for deciding how to price products and services; lead the use of forecasting and market trends to communicate growth or contraction expectations
  • Support the Business Development Directors in tracking activity with Key Accounts
  • Work with the aftermarket team to monitor order entry cadence and margin performance; provide insight into mix, price, and margin changes from historical trends
  • Analyze monthly financial results, providing insights on volume, sales, margin and variance drivers
  • Manage month end sales reporting process and insights analysis
  • Support continuous improvement efforts around sales data management and analysis
  • Maintain and analyze management dashboards
  • Review and analyze order details in SAP
  • Review and analyze company commission accruals
  • Monitor and report weekly sales bookings and corresponding backlog
  • Assist with monthly SOX compliance testing
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation
  • Assist with preparation of annual cost center budgets and perform monthly actual vs budget analysis

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Sales, distribution, and marketing experience helpful
  • Prior work experience with ERP business process flows preferred, specifically as they relate to cost, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing modules
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to create and efficiently manage large, complex Excel files and be able to automate retrievals from and uploads to other Excel files, ERP system and OneStream
  • Aptitude for analyzing data to identify trends and root cause drivers
  • Strong analytical, financial and business mindset
  • Strong organizational, written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction to achieve results
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Proactive learner
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, present recommendations
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate insights to end business consumers and executive teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with various department managers and teams across the organization
  • Must be willing to learn how to present insights to executive management teams
  • Creativity around data management and utilization (new data sources and/or new uses for old data)

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent required

Travel & Working Environment

  • Onsite office environment
  • Hybrid work arrangement possible after 90 days
  • Up to 25% travel
