FUNKTIONEN
Our client, a global industry leader in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a Construction Manager (m/f/d) to join their team in Berlin.
**What you will do:**
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
- Manage the complete construction of wind and solar projects, from the investment memo over the construction-start to the date of commercial operation.
- Leadership and management of the construction site team - responsibility for performance management, target-setting & responsibilities.
- Estimating investment costs (regular updates) and planning construction works & readiness (securing required internal & external resources).
- Facilitate project handover from engineering to construction, including review & technical support on project documentation and tender documents (bid review, technical assessments, negotiation support and issue clarification with bidders until contract award).
- Preparation and regular updating of the construction management plan.
- Management of internal & external stakeholders, technical support, specialist services, changes, administrative work, contractors (including complaints) and contractor interfaces.
- Ensuring quality assurance & quality control as well as compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Completion of contractor management through to signing of handover documentation (final compliance checks and preparation of handover documentation)
- Management and direction of the project handover from the construction department to the O&M department.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
- Technical support during the due diligence process and development phase, including cost estimate reviews, site inspections and review of studies, pre-projects and execution plans.
STRATEGIC SUPPORT
- Contribute to the definition and improvement of construction quality, vision, strategy, policies, requirements, processes and procedures in the construction industry (aiming to improve performance and reduce risk).
- Support country management in regulatory and market initiatives and provide technical support to lean departments to facilitate continuous improvement.
INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION
- Representation of the company to relevant stakeholders such as agencies/authorities and institutions, both public and private.
**What you bring:**
- Master of Science in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Construction or similar.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction of renewable power plants: solar PV and/or onshore wind power. Additional experience in construction of similar energy projects and within a large multi-cultural utility company is a plus.
- Knowledge of the solar PV and/or onshore wind power market is a plus.
- Experience with MS Project and MS Office. AutoCad and GIS is a plus.
- Organizational skills combined with resource management skills, resilience, initiative taking and vendor interaction.
- Excellent communication, diplomacy, networking and influencing skills.
- Strong sense of values and ethics as well as confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- German (business fluent), English (business fluent).
