Junior Legal Counsel - Data Protection & Compliance (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel who can assist our global teams with various compliance tasks related to data protection as well as commercial contracts.
Your Mission

As a Junior Legal Counsel you will work with Adsquare’s internal Legal Counsel to support cross-functionally our Partnerships, Product, Sales and other commercial teams to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, particularly within the European Union (EU) under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Additionally, you will assist in handling various legal matters related to commercial contracts and provide support to teams across different regions worldwide.  


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with other Adsquare teams to support and guide them on their compliance responsibilities, as well as further developing our global compliance processes 
  • Processing data subject requests, maintaining up-to-date data protection documentation, and monitoring the privacy regulatory landscape in Europe, the US, and other markets where Adsquare offers its services 
  • Contributing in keeping our knowledge center relevant and up-to-date and making legal topics easy to understand for everyone - internally and externally 
  • Assisting in conducting internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws 
  • Reviewing commercial contracts with clients, partners and suppliers and manage the contract filing system
Your Profile
  • You successfully completed law studies, a related university degree, or you have 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position, additional certification or coursework in data protection law is a plus
  • Familiarity with European data protection frameworks, including GDPR, is required
  • You like researching and are interested in global data protection regulation (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.), compliance, legal design, and the application in the technology sector with a focus on advertising technologies
  • Attention to detail, project management and organisational skills are essential
  • You like to share your knowledge and work with diverse teams across different functions and communicate and liaise with all seniority levels
  • You enjoy working independently and have the ability to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English language skills (written and verbal) are required, and knowledge of other languages is welcome. German language skills are a plus
