About The Opportunity

The Global Sourcing Organization is seeking a Procurement Senior Manager, with experience in software procurement. The candidate must be capable of interacting with Avaya Senior Management & Executive Teams regarding sourcing Software to support Avaya’s internal business units. To be successful in this role you must be experienced in the daily activities required to manage a software spend portfolio of $50M+ and managing the associated suppliers. You must be familiar with the various software licensing models and negotiating complex agreements, addressing areas such as intellectual property, liability & risk. You will have accountability for hands on sourcing activities and also strategy development, working with internal stakeholders to understand their short and long term needs and ensuring appropriate agreements and sourcing events are completed. While current requirements have a specific focus on Software sourcing, the candidate may have responsibility for other areas of procurement in future. Hence experience in other commodities / categories would also be beneficial.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

•You will manage and work within a framework related to sourcing, supplier evaluation & award, following procurement practices & ensuring cost, quality & delivery performance metrics for your commodity.
•Understand business needs; developing and managing short and long term sourcing strategies which meet those needs.
•Managing day to day sourcing activities, including reviewing purchase requests, SOWs and resolving stakeholder queries / issues 
•Negotiate global agreements for software and related support services; review and amend existing agreements.
•Drafting of appropriate contractual terms to achieve Avaya’s business, financial and contract objectives while minimizing or eliminating risk exposure to Avaya.
•You will consult with internal departments, evaluating software solutions & licensing models to support their needs and developing Requests for Proposal, Quotations or Information requests that meet their requirements.
•Achieving your objectives will require you to ensure compliance with Avaya policies, procedures and directives including adherence to minimum contract terms and receipt of approvals from various Avaya stakeholders.
 

About You

EXPERIENCE

•Established history of producing results in Indirect sourcing, with specific experience in the Software domain. Previous experience in Direct Purchasing also a plus.
•Experience of Sourcing, policies and practices.
•Understanding various aspects of software licensing, Intellectual Property (IP) rights/ownership and risk mitigation
•Applying prudent sourcing & procurement business practices and techniques.
•Demonstrated experience closing commercial business contracts and with contracting related processes.
•Demonstrated experience in achieving cost savings and in supplier management
•Advanced experience or knowledge of the various licensing models, Hosted solutions, managed Services and Cloud Computing is required.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

•Experience in sourcing software and cloud solutions
•Experience in managing enterprise software providers e.g. Microsoft, SFDC, SAP, VMWare/Broadcom and vendors in specific areas such as Information Security
•Negotiation and influencing
•Significant knowledge of Procurement, including standard practices & policies
•Teamwork excellence driven by leveraging strong interpersonal and communications techniques
•Ability to manage multiple priorities
•Demonstrated understanding of developing business relationships
•Established analytical skills, including financial analysis
•Attention to detail and experience negotiating legal Ts&Cs
•Delivering simplicity in outcomes while working within and resolving ambiguous business scenarios
•Accountability for results by driving negotiated outcomes for minimum cost and high solution value 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

•The team is distributed globally, and virtual meetings are routine
•Must be able to manage working across multiple Regions/Geographies & time zones
 

Compensation

The pay range for this opportunity is from $118,800 to $160,400 + performance-related bonus + benefits
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
