As a Principal Key Expert, you:

  • are responsible for the 'Circularity' portfolio element in our ‘Advanced Manufacturing and Circularity’ technology field.
  • will together with our international management team, define and further develop the existing portfolio and consulting services.
  • craft the medium- to long-term technological roadmap based on customer requirements, competitive analyses and assessments of market and technology trends.
  • build an internal network with the operating business units to align our strategy and resource planning with their needs, technology roadmaps and development tasks.
  • develop sustainability strategies that cover the entire product life cycle and expand it with regard to the circular economy. Among other things, you will be driving a more environmentally friendly choice of materials, the development of eco-design tools that make the circular economy possible in the first place, the collection and analysis of digital data during the product use phase, and reverse value chain technologies (reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing or recycling of products).
  • maintain close contacts with leading research institutes and define bilateral and publicly funded joint development projects.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • You have a master or an equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, production engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, physics or other natural or engineering sciences.
  • Long term experience in research and development industry is mandatory. A doctorate degree would be an advantage.
  • You have in-depth technical skills and practical experience in the area of sustainability and circular economy.
  • Basic understanding of technologies for design, manufacturing, and process automation. In particular, you will have a good overview of Siemens own HW and SW product portfolio for CAx systems, automation and product lifecycle management.
  • Familiar with national and international regulations and initiatives in the field of sustainability & circular economy, as well as assessments that take into account economic aspects (e.g. CO2 footprint) in addition to technical criteria.
  • You have gained experience in consulting as well as in strategy development and/or business development and can translate this into technical roadmaps.
  • You know how to communicate technically sophisticated issues in a simple and understandable way and can encourage others with your ideas.
  • You live the ownership culture, take responsibility and inspire passion for the innovative technological topics that you initiate and drive. Problem solving is your top priority and you show empathy, openness, always professional work and a good feel for the person behind the project. In addition, you have already been able to gain initial management experience.
  • Excellent command in both German and English.
  • You are ready to travel both within Germany and abroad.
