Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights across the world (www.volocopter.com). 

Your mission during this flight:

You will manage the next-generation propulsion system development side by side with the Chief Engineer and the head of department 

You will manage the overall EPS system development in term of system engineering, timeline, technology and budget

You will create and maintain transparency in the transversal team for timeline and critical path

You will ensure synchronization of specific plans (and delays) with relevant interface partners, program management and planners from other departments

You will track risks, tasks and open issues, develop mitigation actions and assist by removing blockers and escalate according to internal escalation path

You will support to improve planning methodology and governance

You will provide transparency for budget status

You will create reports on demand

You will create the work breakdown

You will be responsible for capacity planning

You will support in managing & coordinating with suppliers (including strategic) according to the teams needs

You will support to improve planning methodology and governance

You will solve complex problems

You will guide other Project Managers and Team Leads

You will be responsible for budget and time for a dedicated complex project if requested

You will manage a crossfunctional team inside and outside of the CTO organisation if requested in complex project

Check in your professional skills:

• Bachelor/Master/PHD Engineering degree
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the aviation and or electrical industry with min 5 years of experience in project management 
• Very strong experience in managing people and/or different stakeholders
• Strong knowledge in problem solving and feels comfortable in uncertain and complex environment
• Experience in aerospace environment
• Familiarity with EASA certification
• Flight test experience is an asset
• Excellent equipment and system testing experience
• Strong experience in aircraft development programs including development processes (e.g. ARP 4754) from pre-development over development, production towards entry into service 
• Advanced training in the areas of traditional or agile project management (e.g. IPMA / GPM C-Level; APM Practitioner Level; SCRUM Master, etc.
• Excellent experience in the fields of requirements engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, avionics and electrical powertrains 
• Strong knowledge in problem solving and feels comfortable in uncertain and complex environment 
• Proven experience in successfully managing diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication throughout the project lifecycle 
• Managing different people & stakeholders
• Conflict solution oriented
• Excellent English skills in written and speaking
