MAN Truck & Bus is looking for a highly qualified and talented PLM Solution IT Architekt to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex and dynamic systems and platform environments and ideally hands-on experience with PLM software/ platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for the further design, development, implementation and operations of the group’s PLM systems and platform, working closely with our MAN and TRATON IT colleagues as well as engineers to ensure meeting specifications, providing support throughout the development and integration process, and ultimately improving the total PLM environment.

 

Job Purpose/Role

 

  • Solution Design: Develop and architect PLM solutions tailored to the complexities of the automotive industry

  • System Integration: Lead the integration of PLM solutions with existing ERP, CRM, and other systems

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide the development team in the implementation of further PLM solutions and features based on the business needs and requirements

  • PLM Architecture: Design, align and document PLM architectures for a global, integrated PLM landscape including driving architectural reviews in global architecture boards

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and propose viable solutions

  • Project Planning: Create and manage project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with company objectives

  • Application lifecycle management: Operational responsibility for existing PLM solutions with all technical environments and focus on monitoring, software and hardware maintenance, licence management, and heading problem management

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality and functional testing of PLM solutions before rollout

  • Compliance: Ensure PLM solutions comply with industry standards and regulations

  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for configurations, policies, and procedures concerning the PLM architecture

  • Technology Scouting: Keep abreast of the latest developments in PLM and related technologies for potential incorporation

 

Your qualifications

 

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, or related fields; Master’s degree is a plus

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 7 years in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on PLM solutions in the automotive or other complex industries

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, SQL, etc.)

  • Tool Experience: Extensive experience with leading PLM and CAD software platforms (especially PTC: Windchill, Siemens: Teamcenter, Dassault: 3DExperience)

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and leadership abilities

  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications in PLM or IT architecture (ITIL, EAM etc.) are highly desirable

  • Analytical Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a complex industrial context

  • Project Management: Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other project management methodologies

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in German and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
