Senior Category Manager - Industrial Packaging

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Direct Procurement organization as a Senior Category Manager for Packaging. This full-time position, ideally based in Kingsport, TN, USA (though other Eastman locations will be considered), reports to the Sourcing Director and offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic sourcing initiatives for a portfolio of industrial packaging categories.
 

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Category Manager Industrial Packaging at Eastman, you'll primarily focus on sub-categories such as flexibles, FIBC’s, paper bags, and pallets and other industrial packaging. Your role involves:

• Developing a robust category strategy and approved plan
• Leading the deployment of the strategy and prioritizing procurement initiatives
• Conducting fact-based negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting
• Managing procurement initiatives in alignment with stakeholders and cross-functional partners 
• Focal point for key suppliers, including contract management
• Facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among category managers and buyers
• Contributing to the development of Eastman's indirect strategy
• Enhancing Eastman's indirect procurement profile and recognition

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or commercial roles related to packaging
• Strong skills in category management, strategic thinking, and collaboration
• Ability to influence, motivate, and negotiate effectively
• Entrepreneurial mindset and proficiency in demand management
• Data analytics skills and business intelligence gathering ability
• Dedication to delivering impactful outcomes
