Munich Re’s Facultative & Corporate (F&C) Business Development Team is looking for a highly motivated intern to join our team. Munich Re F&C bundles global facultative and industrial insurance business within the Munich Re Group. This gives you the unique opportunity to gain experience in both reinsurance and primary insurance. In industrial insurance, we focus on the underwriting of large and complex individual risks for companies with annual turnover >€/$ 500 million. For our reinsurance clients, we offer facultative reinsurance capacity. With 600 experts at 20 locations, Munich Re F&C generates more than €3 billion in premium per year.
The Business Development Team is an integral part of Munich Re F&C’s growth ambition. Together with F&C management and the underwriting community, we work with corporate clients, cedants and brokers to identify growth opportunities and sustain our strong position in the market. In-depth analysis of customers, markets and competitors forms the basis for this. Your assignment will ideally be for approximately 3-6 months. Your start date can be adjusted individually to your needs.
Your Job
- Conducting market, competitor as well as customer analyses for our management and underwriting teams - analysing, summarizing and visually presenting the results
- Further development and technical improvement of our analysis tool for systematic market assessment and identification of potential customers
- Compilation of industry and sector reports
- Support of current F&C-wide projects
- Processing of ad-hoc requests from F&C management
Your Profile
- You are about to complete your bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in (business) information systems, (business) engineering or business administration/economics with a focus on finance, accounting or a comparable field of study with above-average academic performance
- You have gained initial work experience in the finance, consulting or industry sector through internships
- Very good analytical skills
- Structured way of working, fast comprehension skills
- High level of motivation and commitment as well as sense of responsibility
- Very good knowledge of MS Office applications (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
