Master Student Intern or Master Thesis Bioinformatician / Web Developer

Alithea Genomics, headquartered in the vibrant Biopole campus in Epalinges, is an EPFL spin-off biotechnology
company specializing in providing innovative transcriptomics solutions for the discovery of new biomarkers and
drug development. Alithea is committed to make an impact on the biomedical research by delivering high-quality
RNA-seq services and kits to researchers worldwide. At the same time, they are continuously expanding our range
of high-throughput transcriptomics products and applications through ongoing research and development efforts.
Our multinational team comprises passionate entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists who are dedicated to
creating new solutions and driving the growth of the transcriptomics field.

Position
To continue our growth, we are seeking creative, proactive, and motivated Bioinformatician Intern or Master thesis
project. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of new tools and applications for
transcriptomics analysis essential for the company business and future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a web-based application for data visualization and dissemination using web application
    development tools.

  • Develop, optimize, and execute workflows for transcriptomics data analysis.

  • Communicate results and findings to team members and assist with the interpretation of results and the generation of hypotheses.


Qualifications

  • Currently a Master’s student specializing in Data Science, Bioengineering, or Bioinformatics.

  •  Knowledge of transcriptomics analysis (RNA-seq, scRNA-seq) or other NGS applications.

  •  Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, and Unix shell scripting

  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  •  Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss work permit or Swiss / EU citizenship).

  •  Prior experience with bioinformatics tools and databases is a plus.

  •  Prior experience with R Shiny visualisation or web applications development is a plus.
