Infineon is looking for an Applications Engineer to join our Internet-of-Things Compute & Wireless (ICW) business unit in Austin,Texas. As a member of the Microcontroller product line applications team, you will work closely with the Marketing, Software and Design teams, as well as across division and business lines, in support of our rapidly growing microcontroller product portfolio. This includes PSoC™programmable system-on-chip mixed-signal controllers and other Arm-based microcontroller families. You will drive the definition and development of new application and solution technologies, engage with strategic lead customers, push the organization on product ease-of-use and, continuous improvement.

Job description
In your new role you will:
  • Contributing to major product cross-functional teams for both chip and solution development
  • Prototyping and producing requirements definitions for new application and solutions
  • Producing content in support of new PSoC and microcontroller products, including:
    - Embedded software demonstrating product and solution capabilities
    - Hardware designs including schematic, layout and component selection
    - Analog and digital system-level designs
    - Technical documentation such as datasheets, technical reference manuals, application notes and knowledge base articles
    - Technical training for external customers and Infineon Sales, Marketing and Applications
  • Enabling customer design-in of products and solutions through architectural collaboration, technical support, training and failure analysis
Your profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 12+ years of experience in embedded development
  • Excellent fundamental knowledge of both analog and digital circuits
  • Skilled in C programming; C++, Python and/or assembly experience aplus
  • Experience on Arm CPUs; multi-core experience desired
  • Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) experience
  • Experience with standard MCU communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, and USB
  • Experience with one or more of the following desired:
    - Security principles and cryptographic methods
    - Embedded graphics systems and interfaces
    - Embedded video systems and interfaces including compression/decompression
    - Machine Learning including model development and training
  • Comfortable with use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bus analyzers and related electronic equipment for use in test and debug
  • Ability to problem solve and systematically work to root cause
