Testing & Reliability Engineer for PV Application (f/m/d)

Your Tasks

As part of our PV Development Team with focus on transportation applications you contribute to the development of long lasting, safe, and innovative VaPV (Vehicle applied Photovoltaics) products, ranging from prototype to series solutions to transform regular vehicles to Solar Electric Vehicles. Plenty of exciting and challenging projects await you - widely spread over the bus, truck, and van industry.

Many varied tasks await you:

Planning, implementation and documentation of test plans and setups for PV integration and application on vehicles at various development stages
Develop, modify and implement reliability test methods and drive the expansion of our own testing facilities for our PV products following industry standards from PV and automotive
Conduct reliability tests on various PV modules, integration methods and customer prototypes and ensure reliability of use of our products
Conduct in-depth characterization of visual appearance, functionality and performance of customized PV modules
Perform root cause and failure analysis and utilize those results to make recommendations to development and customer projects team
Work together with the development engineers to test and deliver innovative and reliable products to the market
Coordinate projects with institutional and testing partners
Prepare reports and present results to the team in a regular manner
Doing that, you always keep in mind the sustainable and environmental friendly execution of the project

Our Requirements

You have a completed training as a technician or a degree in physics, chemistry, material science or engineering, e.g. automotive, mechanical, mechatronic engineering, renewable energies, or photovoltaics with a strong practical background
You have at least 2 years of experience in a technical role in industry or an industry-related institute for research, development and test methods
You have experience in testing of industrial products, materials and/or photovoltaic systems and/or subcomponents
You have knowledge of standards, quality and reliability requirements from the photovoltaic, automotive or other industries
It is an advantage to have experience with PV modules and in particular polymer-based PV modules
You work in an exceptionally structured and conscientious manner, act independently and on your own responsibility, but still prefer to celebrate success as part of a team rather than alone
You are fluent in English - German is a plus

Deine Aufgaben

Als Teil unseres PV-Entwicklungsteams mit Fokus auf Nutzfahrzeugen entwickelst du langlebige, sichere und innovative VaPV-Produkte (Vehicle applied Photovoltaics), vom Prototyp bis zur Serienlösung, um reguläre Fahrzeuge in Solar-Elektrofahrzeuge zu verwandeln. Es erwarten dich viele spannende und herausfordernde Projekte - breit gestreut über die gesamte Nutzfahrzeugbranche (Bus, LKW,Transporter und RV).

Es erwarten dich vielseitige Aufgaben:

Planung, Durchführung und Dokumentation von Testplänen und -aufbauten für die PV Integration und Applikation auf Fahrzeugen in verschiedenen Entwicklungsstadien
Entwicklung, Modifizierung und Umsetzung von Prüfmethoden und Ausbau unseres internen Testlabors für unsere PV-Integrationsprodukte nach Industriestandards aus PV und Automotive
Durchführung von Zuverlässigkeitstests an verschiedenen PV-Modulen, Integrationsmethoden und Kunden-Prototypen und Sicherstellung der Zuverlässigkeit beim Einsatz unserer Produkte
Detaillierte Charakterisierung der Qualität, Funktionalität und Performance von anwendungsspezifischen PV-Modulen
Du führst Ursachen- und Fehleranalysen durch und nutzt diese Ergebnisse, um dem Entwicklungsteam Empfehlungen zu geben
Du arbeitest mit den Entwicklungsingenieuren zusammen, um innovative und zuverlässige Produkte zu testen und auf den Markt zu bringen
Du koordinierst Projekte mit Testinstituten und -partnern
Erstellung von Berichten und regelmäßige Präsentation der Ergebnisse im Team
Dabei behältst du stets die nachhaltige und umweltfreundliche Durchführung der Projekte im Auge

Unsere Anforderungen

Du hast eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung als Techniker oder ein abgeschlossenes Studium der Physik, Chemie oder Werkstoffwissenschaften oder ein abgeschlossenes Ingenieurstudium, z. B. in den Bereichen Automobiltechnik, Maschinenbau, Mechatronik, Energietechnik oder Photovoltaik und verfügst über einen ausgeprägten praktischen Hintergrund
Du hast mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung in einer technischen Funktion in der Industrie oder in einem industrienahen Institut für Forschung, Entwicklung und Prüfmethoden
Du hast Erfahrung in der Prüfung von Industrieprodukten, Werkstoffen und idealerweise auch Photovoltaiksystemen und/oder Teilkomponenten
Du hast Kenntnisse über Normen und Qualitätsanforderungen der produzierenden Industrie, bestenfalls im Bereich Photovoltaik und/oder Automobil-/Nutzfahrzeuge
Idealerweise hast du Erfahrung mit PV-Modulen, insbesondere polymerbasierten Modulen
Du arbeitest strukturiert, effizient und gewissenhaft, agierst selbstständig und eigenverantwortlich und feierst Erfolge gerne im Team
Du sprichst fließend Englisch - Deutsch ist ein Plus
Nachhaltigkeit ist für dich eine Herzensangelegenheit, du schwimmst gerne im offenen Meer und stehst nicht nur zu deinen Erfolgen, sondern auch zu deinen Fehlern
