Zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt suchen wir zunächst für 1 Jahr befristet (eine Verlängerung um weitere zwei Jahre ist möglich) zur Vorbereitung einer Promotion

eine wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin /einen wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter (m/w/d)

mit Ziel der Promotion im Thema

„Kausales Maschinelles Lernen und Erklärbare AI (XAI)“am Fachbereich Wirtschaftswissenschaften

Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

mit 66 % der regelmäßigen wöchentlichen Arbeitszeit

Ihre Aufgaben:

·         Forschung in causal ML Methoden, z.B. double ML, honest trees, causal Shapley values, heterogeneous treatment effects, conditional feature attribution methods

·         Erweiterung und Verbesserung von XAI Methoden im Kontext von causal ML

·         Netzwerkarbeit u.a. Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern in der Industrie oder Forschungseinrichtungen anstreben

·         Publikation der Forschungsergebnisse in internationalen, peer-reviewed Zeitschriften und auf Konferenzen

·         Lehrtätigkeit im Umfang von 2,64 LVS in quantitativen Fächern wie Quantitative Methoden, Statistik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Mathematik, Economics, etc.

Ihr Profil:

·         ein dem Aufgabengebiet entsprechendes abgeschlossenes Diplomstudium an einer Universität oder ein entsprechendes abgeschlossenes Masterstudium an einer Universität oder Fachhochschule in den Bereichen Statistik, Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Mathematik oder economics mit quantitativem Schwerpunkt

·         Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Data Science, Machine Learning oder Ökonometrie

·         Umfangreiches Wissen über Datenanalyse, Statistik und quantitative Forschung

·         Exzellente Programmierkenntnisse in R und/oder Python

·         Hohe intrinsische Motivation, Begeisterungsfähigkeit und Eigeninitiative

·         Sehr gute schriftliche und mündliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit und Englischkenntnisse

Your tasks:

·         Advance current methods in causal ML such as double ML, honest trees, causal Shapley values, heterogeneous treatment effects, conditional feature attribution methods.

·         Research and improve the role of XAI methods in causal ML.

·         Seek cooperation with partners in the industry or research institutions.

·         Publish in international, peer-reviewed journals and on conferences.

·         Teaching load of 2.64 semester hours per week in the field of quantitative methods or statistics or economics or mathematics or business informatics.

Your profile:

·         A master's degree at a university or university of applied sciences in statistics, (business) informatics, economics or mathematics

·         Demonstrated competencies in machine learning, data science or econometrics

·         Strong background in data analysis, quantitative research and statistical reasoning

·         High intrinsic motivation and independence, ability to work with other.

·         Excellent programming skills in R or python

·         Very good communication (in English; German is desirable) and organisational skills
