Who will you be joining?

Group Performance Steering (GPS) is a central holding department in Allianz SE.

We strive to be a best practice TEAM in terms of collaboration and focus on our customers' needs, as we are trusted and recognized for our competence and excellence. At GPS we are acting as the guardians of performance and value creation for Allianz SE.
As (Senior) Controller you play a key role in achieving our goals by business partnering with our operating entities/subsidiaries, other Group Centers and senior management. The role stretches from finance and steering to strategy and operations, allowing comprehensive insights into our strategically relevant topics during the management dialogues. From sales to claims you will be strongly involved in activities along the full value chain of our insurance companies. The role allows as well engaging in transversal responsibilities and global projects. The successful candidate masters the balance between being a challenger and supporter to achieve our group wide ambitions.

How can you make an impact?

You will:

  • Be the coverage officer for one or more operating entities or a region
  • Be the key account for all finance related interactions with the operating entity/subsidiary/region, the market responsible board of management area (Business Division) and other Group Centers on related matters
  • Be the lead and/or participate in group projects and initiatives with other Group Centers and/or operating entities/subsidiaries
  • Provide forward looking analytics and derive value generating steering guidance
  • Prepare regular and/or ad hoc reports

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University/MBA degree in finance, accounting, economics, applied mathematics, or other related quantitative field
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; SAP/ ECCS knowledge a plus
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required; additional language skills a plus
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry (Non-Life, Life, Health, Reinsurance)
  • Extensive knowledge in related fields such as actuarial, risk, international accounting, valuation, capital markets and economics
  • Strong analytical skills and a good grasp of quantitative methods
  • Experience in developing and/or challenging a business plan
  • Strong communication skills to represent and defend own position and assessments versus key senior stakeholders within the Group Center and in our operating entities/subsidiaries.
  • Strong relationship management skills to address a connected and diverse set of stakeholders within the Group Center and in our operating entities/subsidiaries
  • Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn and challenge oneself
