About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer specializing in Wastewater engineering to join our team to work on projects in Ireland and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, and construction administration of Wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Feasibility, Route and Site Selections and Concept Design Reports.
  • Preparation of Detailed Designs including detailed design drawings, calculations, and reports.
  • Preparing Technical Specifications and Contract Documents for main works and investigation contracts.
  • Undertaking Tender Evaluation and Procurement processes.
  • Preparation of all documentation required for statutory approvals such as planning permissions and acquiring of land acquisition & wayleaves.
  • Construction stage contract administration.
  • Developing detailed project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Contributing on Wastewater engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs, including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks and implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water engineering, with a focus on feasibility study, detailed design, planning approvals, procurement, and construction contract administration of water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Wastewater engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in design of Wastewater infrastructure projects and analysis software.
  • Strong knowledge of various Contract Forms for Construction Contracts
  • Proven track record in successfully managing Wastewater engineering projects of varying complexity.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project milestones.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors as part of a team. We focus on career progression and encourage internal promotion of our drilling staff and many of our Assistant Drillers have gone on to become Lead Drillers with their own drilling rig. The work involves assisting the Lead Driller to drill boreholes on sites all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations. There will be lots of manual handling and moving heavy items, plus training in the use of some site equipment and plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK (staying away is often required; all expenses paid)
  • To assist the Lead Driller
  • Undertaking other general labouring duties e.g. erecting fences, general reinstatement, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
  • Learning the process and operation of drilling rigs
  • Maintaining tools and equipment

As our new Environmental Advisor, you’ll provide support to project teams during pre-construction and on-site stages of multiple projects You’ll assist in the preparation and review of environmental paperwork required for construction ensuring we remain ethical and compliant whilst not impacting on pressing deadlines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively across the @one Alliance contract to ensure requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS) are delivered at appropriate stages and environmental constraints are communicated.
  • Consult with environmental regulators and key stakeholders where not undertaken in earlier project planning stages.
  • Support project and construction teams through provision of environmental advice during pre-construction meetings and the preparation of documentation to identify and record environmental risks and control measures.
  • Undertake regular inspections and audits on construction sites across the region to ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and internal requirements and highlight and promote best practices.
  • Support Partner Organisations in achieving their environmental goals and sustainability objectives.
  • Form part of the CAT1 and CAT2 incident investigation team and assist with the reporting of CAT3 and CAT4 / Near miss reporting whilst updating the NCR log for environmental issues and close out.
  • Develop and deliver training on environmental issues as required by the @one Alliance training plan.
  • Provide accurate, timely and value-added performance reporting to contribute to business decision making.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….

To join the team in achieving environmental excellence, you’ll have experience in providing on site environmental support and have an interest in a host of environmental issues including soil testing, archaeology, ecology and contaminated land as well as knowledge of key environmental legislation. Your direct experience with environmental regulators alongside your data analysis and interpretation will allow you to make informed and trusted suggestions and decisions.

The primary purpose of the role is associated with the planning, executing, and documenting of electrical and mechanical activities on projects and programme of works in a safe manner, fully in accordance with the Client and GTb framework deliverables processes, systems and procedures.

The Electrical & Mechanical supervisor role operates within a matrix management arrangement which reports to:

· The electrical or mechanical Senior Supervisor lead

· The assigned Project Manager

The successful candidate should have a pro-active approach and adopt a problem-solving attitude in progressing the project deliverables

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Hampshire/West Sussex and Isle of Wight area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. Working on our Southern Water framework, delivering schemes of varying sizes (£2m to £20m), across both waste and clean water treatment plants, as part of our Design and Build team. You will also need a good working knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant / equipment.

The Electrical / Mechanical Supervisor shall:

  • Coordinate the site installation activities to ensure that the project specific requirements and program are met.
  • Ensure that documentation is completed and available on the Common Data Environment, on a continuous basis, to demonstrate that testing requirements are fulfilled.
  • Manage / coordinate sub-contractors installation activities
  • Mark up drawings and documents that have been amended during the installation phase which shall be published to the Common Data Environment as the basis for the final versions to be issued at completion
  • Weekly reports and program support
  • Ensure snags and defects are completed as part of the construction phase.
  • Ensure GTb Health and Safety procedure are adhered to during the installation / construction phase.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the resolution of post-completion defects, if required.
