Overview

The Product Stewardship Engineer will support Product Stewardship program implementation with particular focus on collecting and analyzing product and packaging data.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

         Responsibilities (PS – Product Stewardship)

  • Accountable for implementation of requirements from specific Trade Control regulations and obligations considering various local chemical regulations like PESO, Dangerous Goods rules, MSIHC rules, PESO, Narcotic drug control etc.
  • Provides regulatory and technical advice to Technical, Sales and Marketing for complex local, national and international EHS regulatory and scientific matters.
  • Advice and support to implement legal requirements (e.g. requirements from embargos, foreign trade regulations etc.); implement efficient processes to comply with the legal requirements
  • Characterizes product risks based on hazards, intended uses, and exposures associated with the stages of product lifecycle.
  • Support the implementation of product lifecycle management and the development of the division product stewardship database.
  • Ensure part, packaging and product information is cataloged, collected and accurately tracked in product stewardship database.
  • Work with Corporate Regulatory/Product Stewardship team and provide updates as needed.
  • Implement standard process for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Management across the business unit.
  • Provides regulatory and technical advice to Technical, Sales and Marketing for complex local, national and international EHS regulatory and scientific matters.
  • Coordinate concerns with local QC / R & D department related to SDS & labelling. Also do chemical regulatory compliance check when new products introduced.
  • Advice on the carriage of dangerous goods and application of the respective legislation.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding product regulatory compliance, ingredient disclosure, disposal and other product stewardship concerns that are global in nature.

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

Graduate in Chemistry / Chemical engineering + Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by state level authority.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

With about 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
