Position Summary:

Infor is looking for a talented Senior / Principal DevOps engineer to join our India Infor SunSystems development team as we build momentum for our recently released Multi-Tenant cloud solution. SunSystems is a well-established financial management solution with a depth of functionality that attracts thousands of B2B customers in multiple verticals around the globe. The solution is combined with real time analytics and is tightly integrated into Infor’s Technology platform.

SunSystems R&D is growing a team based in Hyderabad, to work side by side with the rest of the organisation currently based in Farnborough, UK and Shanghai China. This new team is intended to accelerate our delivery work on new features and product modernisation, backing up existing team members and bringing in new experienced team members who can help us drive transformation, innovate and build the future of SunSystems. This team will be part of a thriving local Infor community at the Hyderabad office which spans several Infor products and this is great opportunity to get in at the start of the SunSystems India team.

As a member of our R&D team, the Principal DevOps engineer works closely with Architects, Developers, Cloud Operations team and other DevOps team members to build and maintain highly efficient DevOps automation pipelines for our auto-scaling AWS-based infrastructure, CI/CD chain and high availability SAAS cloud product.  

The successful candidate will work side by side with other team members to ensure consistency, reliability and performance of all DevOps processes, to work towards full autoscaling and zero downtime architecture in the cloud, and continually improve the efficiency and repeatability of our development and delivery chain as we continue to modernize the product and build our future architecture.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

• Understanding the software and the infrastructure on which it operates and the processes and tools used to deliver it, then using this knowledge to drive increased automation, high performance and high availability across our product landscape.  
• As we modernise the product and its architecture, and increase our suite of microservices, modernize our data persistence layer and drive towards full zero downtime deployment, auto-scaling throughout the product and high availability, design and build new automated infrastructure as code, new playbooks and approaches to constantly improve the efficiency of our delivery and platform management.
• Work with our CI/CD pipeline to optimise delivery approach with a focus on security, performance, high availability and resilience.
• Working with other engineers on customer escalations to join the dots between software, data and infrastructure, to support the investigation and rapid resolution of critical incidents.
• Work on the efficiency of our platform, seeking opportunities to reduce infrastructure and management costs and get more performance from the infrastructure we use.
• Supporting product team and development leadership team to understand the current state of the product, it’s ability to scale, and to support future forecasting (e.g. of costs, infrastructure requirements, performance vs capacity.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications

• Strong experience and understanding of the role of DevOps in achieving consistency, performance, repeatability and efficiency across the software development landscape.
• Strong experience of CI/CD toolchains, delivery automation and infrastructure as code. We currently use Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, Artifactory, Docker, ECS/EKS/Fargate, Python and Shell scripting, Installshield, and other Infor tooling that is similar to industry standard tools.
• Strong experience working with cloud SAAS systems and containerized microservices.
• Ability to demonstrate how you have applied DevOps principals and techniques to deliver improvement in a complex system landscape.
• Experience working in an Agile (Kanban/Scrum)  and iterative development approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Enthusiasm and ability to collaborate well with others, including remote teams
• Professional pride, drive and curiosity, a diligent self-starter that keeps up to date with best practise and keeps your skillset sharp.
• Strong problem resolution skills

What Will Put You Ahead?

·       Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications in DevOps (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) very valuable. We currently focus on AWS but other cloud experience (Google, Azure) also valuable.
• Solid experience of typical DevOps tooling, including GIT/GitLab, CI/CD tools, Jenkins, Docker containerization, orchestration tools.
• Experience with tools like Grafana and Telegraf, Sumologic, Cloudwatch for observability, logging and monitoring.
• Solid knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, Cloudwatch, CloudFormation
• Solid understanding of how large complex microservices systems scale up and down with demand, and how zero downtime deployments are achieved.
• Experience of Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
• Strong ability to think through large abstract systems and processes, comfortable problem-solving and working with data.
• Customer focused mindset, with the ability to understand end user requirements and consider how users work with software that you develop.
• Understanding of Accounting/Reporting/Financial applications, or experience with or exposure to Infor SunSystems and Query and Analysis, beneficial but not required.
