The Supply Chain Product Specialist will be accountable for managing the supply of assigned products, ensuring end-to-end coordination of all operational activities through strategic batch planning and dynamic management, to meet the commercial demand and optimisation of stock level. Including developing the supply plan in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Proactively own the resolution of any operational challenges in collaboration with the relevant department or team, to minimise the impact on the business. Maintain product supply to ensure that the Company offers the highest level of service to customers in all markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Master Production Schedule is up to date and maintained, and escalate potential issues to the Supply Chain Manager, to ensure efficient supply chain activities for the Company.
  • Manage the returns process for any returned customer orders via Third Party Logistics providers (3PL) by effective collaboration and communication with Quality and Customer Services to maximise product inventory and minimise potential stock write-off wastage.
  • Build strong internal & external stakeholder relationships, responding to their requests, and supporting them by ensuring excellent ongoing service whilst delivering against the business’ agreed KPIs (key performance indicators).
  • Own the efficient and timely upstream distribution of products via effective oversight of Third-Party Logistics providers, through the provision of necessary documentation for transportation, and storage arrangements.
  • Perform regular reporting and data analyses to measure supplier performance and demonstrate the efficiency of operations for the Company.
  • Understanding of supplier manufacturing processes and timelines in order to identify potential causes of delay to purchase orders.
  • Comply with relevant legal and compliance requirements, regulatory and ethical standards and Company SOPs.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience
  • Experience in supply chain and stock management within the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Supply Chain qualification (e.g. CIPS, APICS, CIPM or equivalent) desirable
  • Highly numerate, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Well-organised and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritise and deal calmly with the pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Able to apply appropriate problem-solving techniques to evaluate and resolve operational issues.
  • Computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office packages and Supply Planning Systems, e.g. SAP
  • Able to build strong internal & external stakeholder relationships and challenge constructively and confidently.
