Unleash your leadership potential and join Nyrstar, a global multi-metals business with a 150-year history, as an Electrical Superintendent. Take charge of a dynamic team and oversee the safe operation of all electrical assets at our cutting-edge Port Pirie site. From HV substations to LV and MV distribution, motors, PLCs, VSDs and more, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and optimising these critical systems.

 

This role is residentially based in Port Pirie, South Australia, operating on a Monday-Friday roster. Ideally the successful candidate will already be residentially based or willing to relocate to Port Pirie. Relocation assistance will be provided if required.

 

   Essential Functions

 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance strategies to exceed production requirements.
  • Ensure the availability and peak performance of plant and equipment through advanced reliability and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Elevate maintenance performance through innovative training programs and the implementation of cutting-edge maintenance management systems.
  • Provide strategic leadership and unwavering support to Capital Projects and Shutdown teams.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive optimization strategies for enhanced efficiency.
  • Inspire and mentor a large electrical maintenance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Champion compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, ensuring a secure and sustainable work environment.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate safety hazards, safeguarding the well-being of our workforce.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:

 

Tertiary Qualifications: Electrical Trade qualifications / Diploma (Required)
Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering (Desirable)
Licences: SA Electrical Licence (Desirable)

 

Work Experience and Required Skills:

 

  • 7-10 years' experience in a similar leadership role, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of asset maintenance systems and processes, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results.
  • Electrical Trades background with experience in mining or heavy industrial environments, demonstrating your technical prowess.
  • Proficient at Superintendent/Management levels, equipped with the skills to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and initiative-taking abilities, enabling you to overcome challenges and drive innovation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data handling skills, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, allowing you to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to lead, drive and implement change, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, empowering you to build collaborative relationships and achieve shared goals.
