SUBSEA PRE-COMMISIONING SUPERVISOR

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities:

The Subsea Pre-commissioning Supervisor has the responsibility for the management and operation of the subsea flowline equipment spread during offshore (platform or vessel based) operational activities, as well as onshore during preparatory mobilization and demobilization tasks.

Primary responsibilities include management of equipment maintenance whilst offshore, logistics and operation, as well as leading the team of technicians to successfully complete the required scope of work. Ensure technicians onsite receive sufficient coaching/training and supervision to carry out the job safely and with good workmanship. Ensure that all operations undertaken at the worksite are competently planned and executed in accordance with the project’s procedures.

Expected to liaise with both Client Representatives and Operational Project Teams providing regular updates and reports as required. Also, strong ROV background is preferred as it will be expected to work with the vessel ROV team very closely during equipment integration and operations.

Job Specific Requirements:

Preparation of equipment prior to offshore execution:

  • Carry out pre-mobilization inventory and certification checks for required work scope
  • Ensure equipment mobilized is suitable for the scope of work
  • Ensure equipment load out lists are completed and verified
  • Perform and Supervise FATs, SITs and Client Witnessed Function testing as required

Offshore Execution

  • Supervise technicians at worksite and have onboard responsibility for equipment performance
  • Report to the Subsea Pre-Commissioning Engineer and/or Offshore Project lead
  • Ensure all Pre-commissioning procedures and safety rules are followed
  • Maintain daily operational reports, equipment maintenance reports, flowline pressure test reports and generate TRAs and TBTs for all tasks
  • Liaise with other offshore departments, including deck and marine, in order to fulfil work-scope
  • Have a thorough knowledge of and work in accordance with the Company’s Business Management System
  • Supervise and perform pre- and post-operational equipment checks, including recorded pressure integrity checks up to 20ksi
  • Carry out demobilization inventory checks, create shipping manifests and organize return of equipment to base
  • Use maintenance management software to create demobilization worklist and end of job reports
  • Carry out work scopes for subsea pre-commissioning operations which may include ROV equipment integration, hydrostatic testing, electrical testing, fiber optic testing, chemical filling/flushing, software operation and troubleshooting.

Operational Key Factors

  • Must be prepared to work offshore for extended periods of time as well as working at the home base in Katy, TX, as required
  • Physically fit and able to obtain offshore survival and medical certification
  • Will be required to attend and pass all job specific training
  • Lead by example to promote the Subsea7 safety culture within the team

Experience:

  • Preferred 5+ years of experience with subsea operations, pressure testing and team leadership
  • Extensive familiarity with ROV systems (electrical, optical, hydraulic)
  • Knowledge of hydrostatic testing at pressures of up to 20,000psi
  • Awareness of fluid cleanliness metrics and how this effects equipment and operations
  • Experience with electrical systems (power, comms, software) and associated test equipment such as Insulation Resistance Meters and OTDRs
  • Umbilical Pre-Commissioning experience is advantageous but not a requirement, as training will be provided
  • Fluid particle analysis experience including particle counting with the use of a binocular microscope a plus
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
