Automotive Test Engineer - Functional Design

Workplace: 29601, Greenville

What to expect:

  • Quality Test Chamber Operator for Squeak & Rattle Noises, in the C.R.E.S.T. facility in Plant 10.
  • Driving vehicles on the test track with BMW B1 approval
  • Preparation of the vehicle for recording Street profiles.
  • Create Test profile on Test Track, recording Street profiles.
  • Iteration from Street profiles to the Test Chamber
  • Preparation of the vehicle for a Long/short CREST ( Install all Temperature Sensors and cooling hose on the Car )
  • Support Maintenance Technician by Yearly Chamber inspection and calibration.
  • Repair and replace Lights and Modules on the Mitronic System ( Hönle )
  • Documentation of the calibration the Measurement Tools
  • Documentation of Service Process
  • Send Measurements Tools to Germany for calibrations.
  • Organization of scrapping documents
  • Preparation Vehicle for scrapping (Removal of the vehicle identification number from the vehicle frame., incl. drain and dispose of all vehicle fluids)
  • Accompanying during the scrapping process incl. (photo) documentation
  • Run the CREST Chamber in Short and Long CREST programs.
  • Support the Module-Engineer by a Short / Voll -CREST test.
  • Create Klima Chamber programs (for example GS 97081)
 

What you bring along:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a test engineering role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle testing procedures and quality control.
  • Familiarity with the operation of test chambers and automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to drive and test vehicles, holding relevant driving approvals.
  • Strong technical skills in repairing and maintaining test equipment and systems.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Mitronic System (Hönle) and Klima Chamber programming.
  • Knowledge of automotive calibration standards and procedures.
  • Experience in scrapping process documentation and vehicle preparation.
  • German language
